Fujifilm Europe’s commitment through the Coronavirus epidemic

The novel Coronavirus / COVID-19 is presenting society and the economy with enormous challenges. Through this evolving situation, the health of Fujifilm Europe’s employees, partners and customers is our primary concern.

The approach to managing this situation is being coordinated locally, in country, and regionally, across Europe. We established a Fujifilm Europe Corona Crisis Committee on 26 February 2020 and we are closely monitoring and building upon recommendations from the World Health Organization, from the European Union and from national Government across Europe. 

The health of our employees, partners and customers Fujifilm Europe’s key priority is the health and safety of our employees, partners and customers. The safety of Fujifilm Europe’s 4500 employees will also be the basis to ensure business continuity and keep service and support for our customers consistent.

Ensuring business continuity

Ensuring business continuity to take care of our customers is a key priority and measures taken by Fujifilm include (but are not limited to):

  • implementing Business Continuity plans across all nations
  • developing Business Recovery plans across all nations
  • working from home where possible – with 80% of our workforce now working from home
  • proper hygiene protocols across all of our sites – and when off site
  • adopting any new international and national travel restrictions
  • prohibiting the attendance and participation in trade shows and events
  • directing employees who display any of the Coronavirus symptoms to report this to us and follow any recommendations by qualified healthcare professionals

Ensuring business continuity and customer’s safety

The entire global supply chain has been impacted due to the Coronavirus outbreak, which has led to large-scale disruption in both manufacturing and shipping. Contingency plans are in place for both production and logistics. We are taking active measures to limit this impact and we are in daily contact with our logistics partners. However, considering Fujifilm’s diversified business portfolio, the supply chain impact will vary on a business-by-business basis.

Fujifilm’s transformation, from producer of analogue photo film to a diversified company with a focus in the healthcare sector, enables the company to support the health of people around the world. Our Medical Systems business exists to serve doctors and patients and to help save lives during this epidemic. In this context, we are doing our very best to keep delivery, installations and service as steady as possible.
